Boston skyline from World’s End

Explore the Outdoors: World’s End in Hingham

World's End is a neat park in Hingham where you can walk or bike on trails. It has big, grassy hills and rocky spots by the water. You can see the Boston skyline from certain areas and enjoy this calm place to spend some time outside.

World's End has a really interesting past. Long ago, Native Americans lived on this land. Later, when European settlers arrived, it became farmland. A famous park designer, Frederick Law Olmsted, planned the winding paths and hills we see today. But, get this: there were also plans for a power plant to be built there. People thought about dividing the land into house plots, like a neighbourhood. But luckily, that didn't happen either.

Then, after World War II, there was a plan to build the United Nations headquarters at World's End. But that didn't happen, and it stayed a park.

Now, we get to enjoy it for walks, bike rides, and those amazing views of the harbor and Boston. - World’s End Hingham
