This Week on the South Shore
Headlines
Hingham: Braving heavy snow and freezing temps, Hingham residents marched alongside snow plows to celebrate the 49th annual Lincoln Day honoring General Benjamin Lincoln and President Abraham Lincoln. The spirited parade blended history and civic pride, reminding the community, amid America’s 250th birthday, that service and leadership still matter, even in a snowstorm. - Boston Herald
Marshfield: Bitter cold locked in more than six inches of ice on Clark Pond in Marshfield, giving local anglers a rare window for ice fishing this winter. Bundled up and drilling holes, fishermen took advantage of the deep freeze. Proof that when temps drop, South Shore traditions rise. - Patriot Ledger
Norwell/Hanover: Norwell High junior Mia Reif captured the girls diving title at the MIAA South Sectional championships, leading a strong showing by South Shore athletes. From the pool to the court, including Hanover boys basketball extending its win streak, local student-athletes proved the South Shore talent runs deep. - NationalToday
Plymouth: Students at The COVE School in Plymouth built food truck concepts from the ground up, designing menus, logos, uniforms, and running the businesses themselves. The hands-on project blends creativity with real-world job skills, giving students practical experience as they prepare for life beyond the classroom. - WickedLocal
Scituate: Portland artist Dominic White, originally from Scituate, is on a mission to visit and paint every lighthouse in Maine. The personal project, inspired by childhood memories and shaped by loss, has him traveling the coast to capture each beacon, 13 down so far, with plans to paint them all. - WCVB
